Interdisciplinary Brain Research that Enhances the Human Condition

Neuroscience is one of the most fast-changing areas of discovery — brain imaging tools have transformed how we understand perception, memory, learning and brain conditions, such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. Its promise for bettering human life is limitless.

Carnegie Mellon University has been in the forefront of cognitive science for many decades. We’ve created models of the working brain and expanded understanding of cognitive processes, including how we see, hear, decide and remember. CMU links fundamental biology with capacities of computation and studies of behavior to advance neuroscientific discovery that promises to transform human health and well being.
