School of Drama

The Carnegie Mellon School of Drama offers an intense conservatory education in theater within a major research university. This experience prepares students intellectually, artistically and practically to be leaders — on stage, in film, on television or within the expanding realm of new media.

Whether they are studying acting, music theatre, directing, or costume, lighting, scenic or sound design, students pursue their artistic growth with intensity, with frequent performances and many opportunities for collaboration.

Ranked among the best theater schools in the world, our drama graduates are well-prepared for professional practice and ready to take on any creative challenge.

Your support will help bring the most talented students and faculty to the School of Drama and provide professional-level facilities to continue CMU’s more than 100 years of contribution to the life of American theater.
